Medical Errors – Third Leading Cause of Death in U.S.

Medical Errors have been cited as the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States. A May 3, 2016 article in the Washington Post reported on this surprising finding. They estimated that 98,000 deaths a year are caused by medical errors. Only heart disease and cancer rank higher. The CDC does not include medical errors in their statistics. Instead they use whatever underlying health condition the person was suffering from as the cause of death.
